Who Can You Trust? ‘Wake Up Dead Man’ Teaser Poses a Difficult Question

Date:

In a world of secrets and lies, who can you trust? That is the central question posed by the first teaser for Wake Up Dead Man: A Knives Out Mystery. The clip establishes a tense atmosphere where every character is a potential suspect in a shocking murder, and even the detective, Benoit Blanc, seems challenged.

Daniel Craig returns as Blanc to investigate the “impossible” murder of a priest (Josh Brolin) during a church service. The teaser suggests a narrative where deception is rampant, and the truth is buried under layers of piety and pretense.

The film’s all-star cast, including Glenn Close, Kerry Washington, and Mila Kunis, will bring this world of mistrust to life. Each character will have something to hide, forcing Blanc—and the audience—to constantly question who is telling the truth. The detective’s new, more serious look reflects the gravity of this task.

The mystery has already been unveiled at the Toronto International Film Festival. For the rest of us, the challenge of solving the crime begins when Wake Up Dead Man hits select theaters on November 26th, followed by its Netflix release on December 12th.
