World Mourns Pope Francis: Trump and Biden Lead Tributes to ‘The People’s Pope’

Date:

Global tributes poured in following the death of Pope Francis, a spiritual leader celebrated for his compassion, humility, and dedication to justice. Among those paying respects were two U.S. presidents—Donald Trump and Joe Biden—who offered deeply contrasting but heartfelt messages.

Former President Donald Trump shared a brief message on his Truth Social platform, writing:
“Rest in Peace Pope Francis! May God Bless him and all who loved him!”

Current President Joe Biden, a devout Catholic, offered a more expansive tribute on X, calling Francis “The People’s Pope” and praising his lifelong mission of service.
“It is with great sadness that Jill and I learned of the passing of His Holiness Pope Francis,” Biden wrote.
“He will be remembered as one of the most consequential leaders of our time. He fought for peace, advocated for the poor, embraced other faiths, and championed our planet.”

Biden emphasized Francis’s inclusive vision, stating that he “made all feel welcome and seen by the Church,” and lauded his efforts to uplift the voiceless and powerless around the globe.

As the world reflects on the legacy of Pope Francis, his unwavering commitment to unity, compassion, and justice stands as a guiding light across religious and cultural divides.
